Thanks so much for organising yesterday’s Jurassic runs, which I really enjoyed. The views were fabulous and the marshals very friendly. I’ve just realised I finished as 1st Veteran on the 10k after just beating another oldie to the line. That’s definitely made up for me posting a ‘Personal Worst’ over the distance …but then it was a wee bit hilly (379m of elevation according to my watch!). I’ll see if I can do it again next year, but with the benefit of some hill training!

    Good Evening,

Yeovil Town RRC are pleased to announce that the Yeovil Marathon is back next year on the 10th June 2018 with the addition of our brand new race, the Heron Half Marathon. The venue is the RNAS Yeovilton Athletics Track and the start of the Marathon is 09:00 and the start of the Half will be 10:00.

Entry is online only via Full on Sport and up to the 31st December 2017 there is an Early Bird Entry Fee of £25 Affiliated and £27 Non-Affiliated for the Marathon; £18 Affiliated and £20 Non-Affiliated for the Half. From the 1st Jan 2018 they revert to the normal fees of £33 & £35 for the Marathon and £22 & £24 for the Half.

The route has changed slightly from the previous 3 years but will be certified accurate for the respective distances and a UKA Race Licence will be applied for for both races.

For those Runners that haven’t done this race before it is perfect for those who want to try their first Full or Half Marathon due to the route being fairly flat, also this route offers those a PB opportunity and to gain that Good for Age or Championship Qualifying times for London or other Marathon Majors.

For more details visit our website at http://www.yeovilmarathon.co.uk and follow us via our Facebook page.

    Kind Regards,

    Bryn Phillip

Hi – I would be extremely grateful if you could add our race: The Umborne Ug 10k to your race diary and/or promote this race within your running club – the 13th running of this event. There is also a 2.5k Fun Run which is flat and easy.

It takes place on Sunday 1st July at 11am in a village called Umborne which is 3 miles north of Colyton in East Devon. The race is mostly M/T with a couple of hills! Hot drinks, cakes and bacon butties afterwards so please bring the whole family! Prizes for M1,2,3 – F1,2,3 – vet M40,50,60 – F35,45,55

Further details will be available on the http://www.axevalleyrunners.org.uk web site.

Thank you for your support – Eleanor Wood, Female Captain of Axe Valley Runners, Seaton.

        Hello Bryn,

Thanks for letting us know about the Umborne Ug. This is the first time you do it on a Sunday morning, isn’t it? I have added that to our race calendar and “Where we run” page. Hope to get a larger group of Bridport Runners to do the race. Thanks, Hagen
