Ben regains running title after 17 years

Bridport Runners have a new champion: 17 years after gaining this award the last time, Bridport Runner Ben Renshaw won the title of County Champion in his age group (senior men, 22 years and up) last weekend at the Purbeck 10k 2014. Out of 432 runners, Ben finished second in 34 minutes and 36 seconds. In 1998, Ben had secured the title of a County Champion as a 15 year old runner for the first time. The Championship in the race on the Isle of Purbeck is another great achievement for Ben. Mid of April he already completed the London Marathon in 2 hours 43 minutes and 59 seconds (picture), making him number 321 out of more than 36,000 runners in one of the most prestigious marathon races in the world. Ben’s next goal is the Berlin Marathon in September in which five other Bridport Runners will start with him.
