Chris and Simon race at London Marathon

Tried many times to get into the London marathon – finally successful with the club place: Chris Monteith

Bridport Runners had two runners at this years’ London Marathon. Racing in the Club’s distinctive black and white stripes Chris Monteith, who won the club entry, finished in a very credible time of 03:38:46. Having completed, Chris said that the race was “a rather surreal 26-mile emotional rollercoaster, the first 19 of which were really enjoyable.”

“London Marathon is hard – give me trails any day”: Simon Jordan

Simon Jordan (who was running for Macmillan Cancer Support) is more usually seen running on trails than road, completed the race in a hard fought 05:37:41. Post-race Simon’s views on the London Marathon were: “It’s like a huge but painful party, the support is legendary, and I would recommend it to anyone.“ Well done to both Bridport Runners!
