Bridport Runners race overseas at the Paris Marathon

Five runners from the club took part in the 43rd Schneider Electric Marathon de Paris on Sunday, 14th April 2019. The race is billed as one of the most prestigious road marathon races in terms of both number of entrants and performance of runners.

Leading the club home was experienced member Ben Renshaw completing in a very competitive time of 02:36:21 placing him in 109th position from 49,155 runners on the start line.

Sisters Vicky and Emma Ackerman completed the iconic course, which passes well known landmarks including the Tour Eiffel and the Cathedrale Notre-Dame de Paris, in 04:19:21 and 04:14:04 respectively.

Husband and wife team Jon and Laura Lombard were reunited after having crossed the finish line on the Avenue Foch in 03:16:03 and 05:18:39. After successfully completing the race Ben Renshaw said that they were “over the moon with the results and amazing memories.”
