For her second marathon, Claire chose a completely new race in the neighbourhood: the Dorchester Marathon. She conquered the course today in 4 hrs. 17 min. 35 sec. and finished 262nd out of 705 runners. ‘I think the heat got to me, and it wasn’t flat!’, commented tired but happy Claire after her post race celebration beer. ‘I’m happy that I finished and feel proud of what I did.’ You’re definitely right, Claire – well done! The race was held for the very first time and jointly organised by White Star Running and Dorchester Casterbridge Rotary. It was on fully closed roads running through historic Dorchester, picturesque villages and the Dorset countryside. ‘It was a brilliant race and very, very well organised’, said Claire. ‘They had thought of everything: great medals, great marshalling, great facilities. Definitely would do a White Star Running again.’
