Bridport Runners will be organising a “Santa Run” (5k and 1 mile family run) around West Bay to take place before West Bay Days’ annual “Christmas Tree on the Green” celebration. The event with brass band, carols and tree lighting ceremony will happen on the afternoon of Sunday, 4th of December. The 5k run on a mainly flat and traffic free course is especially tailored for young runners (11 years up) and will start at 2:00 pm in front of St. John’s Church in West Bay. There will also be a 1 mile flat “Fun Run” for families with young children along the harbour and the Esplanade. Race tickets cost £5 per person for the 5k and £10 for families and will include a medal and seasonal refreshment at the Christmas Tree event. Tickets can be bought on the day and through Bridport Runners in advance. If you are interested to do the run, please fill out this entry form and bring it with you on the day or respond to this email address: firstname.lastname@example.org.
All proceeds from the event will go to support West Bay Days’ four nominated local charities for 2016: Bridport Barracudas, Bridport Youth Football Club, Greenhills and West Bay Women’s Institute. Bridport Runners’ Chair Brian Shelley is delighted to host this event in West Bay: “This year we had our Bridport Jurassic Coast Run at West Bay Day for the first time. It was very well perceived by everyone involved, not the least because of the support of the Harbour Master and West Bay Days’ Committee. With the Santa Run we would like to return our gratitude for their help.”
