For her first marathon, Sara (Jackson) didn’t look for any flat race: No, she had to start in the Salisbury Trail 5-4-3-2-1 marathon! Sara finished in 4:54:19 hrs. and came in no. 123 out of 327 competitors (see results here). Well done! The Salisbury Trail 5-4-3-2-1 consists of a a variety of walks and runs, starting from 5k up to an ultra-marathon. The marathon course went through lovely estates, farmland, villages, several hills, a horse racing course and a hill fort in the Salisbury Wessex area. “It was amazing. I loved it!”, Sara said afterwards. “It was my first marathon. My only aim was to enjoy it and I definitely did.” However, besides the enjoyment Sara also did the marathon for a charity called “Regain” and for which she is still raising money (see her “just giving” page). Regain helps to provide sports wheelchairs for tetraplegics ─ a paralysis caused by illness or injury that results in the partial or total loss of use of all limbs and torso ─ and who helped her friend Tom, as well. Congratulations to a great achievement, Sara!
