At a record breaking event for Weymouth parkrun, the Bridport Runners left a good mark: Seven Club runners (plus Vicky’s mum) started in this regular 5k race for all ages which takes place every Saturday morning and saw Bridport Runners’ Ben Renshaw winning it in 16 minutes 56 seconds. The event was recorded the highest turnout ever with 208 entrants on the day.
Other Bridport Runners to participate were Jonathan Sutcliffe (No. 28 in 21:01), Clive Whaley (No. 30 in 21:04), Brian Shelley (No. 53 in 23:28), Karen Cox (No. 128 in 28:55), Samantha Etherington (No. 157 in 31:49) and Vicky Ackerman who finished the course together with her mother Kay as No. 204 in 42:12. Commenting on the race, Vicky said: “I have to say it’s the friendliest and most supportive event I’ve ever been to!”
