Just a week before the Bridport Jurassic Coast Run kicks off, Bridport Runners left this year’s Charmouth Challenge successful ─ with Ben being less than a minute away from winning this most southerly fell race in England. All in all, 234 runners finished the nearly 8 miles long and challenging course up Stonebarrow Lane, Golden Cap, the ruins of St. Gabriels church and Stonebarrow Hill. The race not only attracted runners from neighbouring running clubs but even some participants coming from as far away as the New York Road Runners. From the start, Ben and a runner from Tamar Trotters (Michael Robinson) took the lead ─ and never let it go. Ben finished only 45 seconds behind Michael in 52 minutes 54 seconds as 2nd in the race. Next Bridport Runners to follow were Andrew (place 35, exactly like he did last year), Brian (111), Hagen (132), Les (171) and Sarah (177). See the provisional results here. Well done, all of you!
